چکیده

The efficacy of five native botanicals viz., neem, castor, akondo, basok and ata against the seed associated fungi in controlling leaf spot disease black mustard was evaluated. In blotter method, maximum reduction (85.91%) observed seeds treated with (1:1) while neem (1:1), (1:2) castor gave 83.52, 82.59 82.39%, respectively over control. Maximum germination (93%) akondo where supported 92, 92 90% germination, respectively. percent incidence (29.22%) diseases severity (24.67%) were recorded application at 28 days after sowing highest shoot length (16.09cm), root (4.69cm), vigor index (1842.56%) yield (33.70%) comparison to control net house. findings found as an effective botanical for ecofriendly management Alternaria mustard.

The effect of spraying of methyl jasmonate and 24-epi-brassinolide on photosynthesis, chlorophyll fluorescence and leaf stomatal traits in black mustard (Brassica nigra L.) under salinity stress

Methyl jasmonate and Epi-brassinolide as plant growth regulators have significant biological effects on plant growth, including increased tolerance to salt stress in plants. In this study, the effects of salinity stress and its interaction with methyl jasmonate and Epi-brassinolide on chlorophyll concentration, rate of photosynthesis, transpiration, stomatal conductance and resistance and chlor...

Thermal and pressure stability of myrosinase enzymes from black mustard (Brassica nigra L. W.D.J. Koch. var. nigra), brown mustard (Brassica juncea L. Czern. var. juncea) and yellow mustard (Sinapsis alba L. subsp. maire) seeds.

This study investigates the effects of temperature and pressure on inactivation of myrosinase extracted from black, brown and yellow mustard seeds. Brown mustard had higher myrosinase activity (2.75 un/mL) than black (1.50 un/mL) and yellow mustard (0.63 un/mL). The extent of enzyme inactivation increased with pressure (600-800 MPa) and temperature (30-70° C) for all the mustard seeds. However,...

Symptomological, Cultural and Molecular Variability of Alternaria Brassicicola Leaf Spot in Broccoli (brassica Oleracea Var. Italica L.)

Variation of Alternaria brassicicola leaf spot of Broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica L.) was evaluated based on morphological, cultural and molecular parameters during Rabi season 2010 and 2011. Six isolates of Alternaria were cultured in vitro using different growth medium and the growth pattern of the fungi was studied. Maximum 86 leaf spots were recorded from Naini followed by BHU (74)...

Development and validation of a real-time PCR method for the simultaneous detection of black mustard (Brassica nigra) and brown mustard (Brassica juncea) in food.

The paper presents a real-time PCR method allowing the simultaneous detection of traces of black mustard (Brassica nigra) and brown mustard (Brassica juncea) in food. The primers and the probe target the B. nigra partial RT gene for reverse transcriptase from gypsy-like retroelement 13G42-26. The real-time PCR method does not show any cross-reactivity with other Brassicaceae species with the ex...
